Cancellation Policy

All bookings (rentals or guided tours) can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. After this deadline or in case of a no-show, no refund will be issued. This policy applies to all our locations unless stated otherwise at the time of booking.

Guided tours

Preamble:

These General Terms and Conditions govern the conditions under which HOLLAND BIKES VELOMOTION provides guided bicycle tour services.

HOLLAND BIKES VELOMOTION is a simplified joint-stock company registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 442 110 789, with its registered office at 79 ter boulevard Lefebvre, 75015 Paris, France, and EU VAT number 66 442 110 789.

Article 1: Booking Procedure

Holland Bikes offers a range of guided bicycle tours in Paris, Bordeaux, Amsterdam, Versailles, Lyon, Nice and New York, available through an online booking system where you may make your reservations.

Article 2: Contract

Our services are provided solely for personal use, and therefore for non-commercial purposes only. The resale of service contracts for any commercial or competing business is strictly prohibited.

Article 3: Reservation Holder

Any reservation made in your name shall be deemed to have been made by you personally.

Article 4: Reservation

Making a pre-reservation or reservation does not automatically imply acceptance. Holland Bikes reserves the right to cancel or modify the date or time of a guided tour for any reason. Therefore, if you make your reservation less than 48 hours before the tour, it is strongly recommended to confirm that your booking has been accepted by calling the local phone number provided on our website.

Article 5: Cancellation by Holland Bikes

We reserve the right to cancel reservations made by persons with whom there is an ongoing dispute regarding payment of a previous order, or who are suspected of any irregularity.

If you cancel no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the guided tour, the amount paid will be refunded in full.

Article 5 bis: Cancellation, Weather and Safety Policy

Cancellation:

  • You may cancel your reservation free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start of the tour.

  • After this period, no refund will be granted, unless you have purchased cancellation insurance. In such case, you may cancel free of charge up to 2 hours before the start of the tour.

  • No refund will be provided in the event of a no-show (including late arrival).

  • Holland Bikes reserves the right to cancel any reservation up to 24 hours before the start of the tour.

Weather conditions:
Tours take place under all weather conditions. In case of bad weather, no refund or rebooking will be possible. If you wish to modify or cancel your booking, please refer to the cancellation policy above.

Responsibility / Safety:

  • The safety of our customers is a priority. Before departure, safety instructions and traffic regulations will be provided.

  • If you are unable to cycle safely or refuse to comply with these instructions, you will not be allowed to participate in the tour. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

  • Participation in the tour is entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for any damage caused to yourself, to third parties, or to equipment.

Article 6: Price

Service prices are indicated on the website and in the booking tool. In case of discrepancy, the price indicated in the booking tool shall prevail. Payment must be made in advance at the time of online booking.

Article 7: Conditions During the Tour

The following conditions apply to you and all members of your party during the tour:

7.1. You must carefully follow all instructions given by your guide.

7.2. Ensure that the bicycle provided to you is in proper working condition.

7.3. During the tour, you are fully and solely responsible for the proper and safe use of the bicycle. After the tour, you must return the bicycle in the same condition in which it was received.

7.4. You must not leave the bicycle unattended. In the event of a break or mechanical failure during the tour, you must return the bicycle to the guide so it may be properly secured.

7.5. In case of damage to the bicycle due to misuse, you will be charged for the repair costs.

7.6. In case of loss or theft of the bicycle, you are required to file a report with the local police and provide a copy to Holland Bikes within 24 hours of the official end of the tour. You will also be charged for the replacement cost of the bicycle.

7.7. You acknowledge that you are aware of the general traffic regulations and agree to pay any fines or penalties imposed by authorized officers for violations of road traffic laws.

7.8. You acknowledge that you are familiar with cycling rules and accept all risks inherent to this activity.

7.9. You declare that you are covered by your own insurance and/or third-party liability insurance and agree not to hold Holland Bikes liable for any damage or injury to yourself or third parties during the guided tour.

Article 8: No Right of Withdrawal

Pursuant to Article L.221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for "accommodation services (other than residential accommodation), transport of goods, car rental, catering or leisure activities to be provided on a specific date or within a specific period."

Given the nature of the services provided by Holland Bikes, you therefore have no right of withdrawal for guided bicycle tours.

Article 9: Disputes

All disputes arising under these General Terms and Conditions shall be governed by French law and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Paris.

In the event of a dispute, Holland Bikes undertakes to seek an amicable settlement.

In accordance with Article L.612-2 of the French Consumer Code, if a dispute cannot be resolved and after unsuccessful attempts at amicable settlement with Holland Bikes, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator, whose contact details are as follows:

For easier processing of your request, please provide the mediator with Holland Bikes’ RCS number: 442 110 789.

You have a period of one year following your written complaint to Holland Bikes to refer the matter to the mediator.

You also have the possibility to submit your complaint via the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, available at:

Article 10: Telephone Solicitation Opt-Out

Holland Bikes informs you that you have the right to register free of charge on the French “Bloctel” list opposing telephone solicitation, available at www.bloctel.gouv.fr.
