Wearing a helmet is not mandatory in France, except for children under 12 years old.

Paris is a relatively flat city, but if you want an effortless ride or if you have a medical condition (e.g., knee problems), we strongly advise you to take an e-bike. In France, the minimum age to ride an E-bike is 14 years old.
