Great Experience with Holland Bicycle Rentals at Versailles- We often rent e-bikes on vacation to explore more ground than we could on foot, and Holland Bicycle Rentals at Versailles was an excellent choice for our visit. The staff were genuinely kind and accommodating, making the rental process smooth and pleasant. Their location is very accessible by public transportation, which made getting there hassle-free. The bikes are high quality and very comfortable. We covered the extensive palace grounds comfortably and saw so much more than we would have walking. We also lucked out with gorgeous weather, which made cycling through the manicured gardens and tree-lined paths even more enjoyable. We definitely recommend Holland Bicycle Rentals for anyone wanting to make the most of their Versailles visit!

Renting a bike from Holland Bikes for our day at Versailles was excellent. Ruben was very nice and gave us a number of great suggestions for our day. The bikes were set up before arrival, they rode great and performed perfectly. Getting around the estate by bicycle was much better than walking (it’s so big) or by golf cart (which appear to have a limited range and are slow). We got to see much of the entire estate by bike, , plus ride between the palace to linch and then to the Trianon. I’d recommend this to anyone.

What you’ll see on the tour?

• Château de Versailles (Palace of Versailles)

Admire the majestic palace from the outside, once the center of King Louis XIV’s court and a place where over 5,000 people lived and worked. The Château de Versailles also witnessed key moments that fueled the French Revolution.

• Domaine de Versailles

Cycle in the Versailles domain, where more than 50 fountains once operated during royal celebrations.

• Grand Canal

Pause by the impressive waterway, built in the 17th century, where Louis XIV organized boat parades with gondolas imported from Venice.

• Grand Trianon

See this elegant pink marble chateau, which was a retreat built by Louis XIV and later used by Napoleon as a summer palace for himself and his second wife.

• Petit Trianon

Visit Marie Antoinette’s private retreat. She redesigned this estate to escape the formality of court life and later created Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet, a rustic village where the queen could play at being a countrywoman.

A short refreshment break is included. Bring a snack or simply enjoy the moment in the shade.

FAQ Bike Tour Versailles

Is the ride difficult?

Not at all. The terrain is flat and suitable for most visitors. If you prefer extra ease, an e-bike option is available from 14 years old on.

Can children join?

Absolutely! Kids from 6 years old can ride their own bike, and younger children can join in a child seat.

Do we go inside the palace? Are tickets included?

Our bike tour does not include entry tickets to the formal French Gardens, the Trianon Estate, or the Palace interiors. This gives you the freedom to choose how and when you want to explore these sites — either before or after your tour, at your own pace.

We recommend checking ticket availability and purchasing in advance via the official site. If you wish to visit these areas, tickets can be purchased directly on the official Versailles website, which shows up-to-date availability:

https://en.chateauversailles.fr/plan-your-visit/tickets-and-prices

What if it rains?

The Versailles bike tours operate rain or shine. Cancellations can be made 24 hours before the date of the tour.

How do I get to Versailles?

From Central Paris, you can take the RER C train directly to Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche train station. The bike tour begins at our shop nearby, where your tour guide will meet you before the ride.
